Code of conduct
The messenger is a private space. These rules keep it that way. They are short, because a long text does not get read. Version: 6 August 2026.
1. What is not allowed
Not allowed: harassing or threatening others; depictions of abuse, especially of children; anything criminal; spam; and reselling or lending your access.
2. We do not read along — we cannot
Your messages are encrypted on your device and we never hold the keys. So we do not find violations ourselves. We depend on your report.
When you report something, you release that content to us — only then can we look at it and assess it. That is not a trick but a consequence of the encryption: without your release we see encrypted text and nothing else.
3. What happens when something is reported
We act in this order:
- a warning,
- suspension of the messenger access,
- termination under the terms of service.
For criminal content we file a report with the authorities. We document every one of these measures.
If we decide against you, we tell you why and you can object. We are a small team, not an authority — but nobody is suspended without a reason.
4. Reporting something
You can report in two ways: through the form here or by e-mail to [email protected]. Both reach the same place — it is our contact point under Art. 12 of the Digital Services Act, and the procedure behind it is the notice mechanism under Art. 16 DSA.
5. If it is urgent
If there is an acute danger to life or limb, please contact the police first (110 in Germany) or the emergency number (112 across the EU). We are not an emergency service and cannot respond around the clock.
